The performance:
The participants are asked to walk with a sculpture balancing on the head as the horizont rises before the sun on Bilbao’s bridges.
About the light:
The action is taken to the light. As the horizont rises before the sun, are the sunrays, for a short moment, sending their dramatic red, violet, yelow light low over the performing participants on the bridges streching between water and sky, from one bank of the river to the other…
Preparations:
Before the participant can walk on the bridges of Bilbao, they are given two exercises building up for the performance:
- train the walking with a weight balancing on the head
- create a sculpture of a matierial of their choice. The material chosen is “telling” the “artist” how to be shaped to a bigger form to be balanced on the head, by just plaiting, knotting or whatever the qualities of the material presents. No glue og other material should be added.
